Cottonwood Gallery & Arts was started by two local artists, Desiree Christenson and Tori Swanson, who saw a need for a space to showcase the abundant talent found in the Hamilton County area. They wanted to create a gallery with a focus on community, where the member artists have the opportunity to partake in the operations and be more involved in the Aurora arts scene. The name “Cottonwood Gallery & Arts” was inspired by the twin cottonwood trees that marked the chosen site Aurora was founded on. Similarly, the gallery hopes to be a foundation of the growing arts community in this little town.
The gallery runs as a cooperative and offers artwork in a wide range of mediums and price ranges. The gallery also offers classes for those who’d like to learn and develop new artistic skills and explore their creative side. We hope you’ll stop by our gallery and enjoy all that Aurora, Nebraska has to offer!
