The Genoa Indian School was in operation from 1884 until its closing in 1934, and was one of the nation's 26 Indian Boarding Schools established by the federal government and the ONLY school for Indian youth in Nebraska. The Interpretive Center displays: original harness/bridal murals, Tribal flags, a campus model and many other exhibits. The school was declared a State Historical Site in 1976 and a National Historical Site in 1978.
