Nebraska Tourism announces tourism grant recipients

LINCOLN, Neb. (May 18, 2017)— The Nebraska Tourism Commission Thursday announced grant awards totaling $271,656.42 in the first cycle of the Directed Tourism Marketing Grant Program. The Commission received 44 applications this grant cycle requesting $338,456.42 in funding.
 
The Commission’s grant programs are very competitive and involve a selection committee of grant reviewers from the private and public sectors and citizens at large. “This round of grant funding provides marketing assistance grants to communities and organizations, directing the funds towards innovative opportunities in digital marketing programs, social media promotions, video production and print advertising – providing an affordable way for communities to tie into the Commission’s major campaign efforts while increasing overall impact,” said Commission executive director John Ricks.  Awardees under this cycle are: 

  • $5,850 to The Crane Trust for print advertising, digital and social media promotions
  • $9,000 to Visit Omaha for digital and print promotions
  • $5,080.50 to The Willa Cather Foundation for social media marketing, digital promotions and video production
  • $11,016.67 to the McCook/Red Willow County Visitors Bureau for print advertising, social media marketing, and digital promotions
  • $5,433.75 to Keith County Visitors Committee for print advertising
  • $6,600 to the Nebraska Association of Bed & Breakfasts for print advertising and digital promotions
  • $20,350 to Brownville’s River Inn Resort for digital promotions, print advertising, and social media marketing
  • $9,637.50 to Grand Island/Hall County Visitors Bureau for digital promotions, print advertising and social media marketing
  • $1,500 to Boys Town for social media marketing
  • $2,500 to the Lincoln Children’s Zoo for digital promotions
  • $1,220 to the Washington County Historical Association for digital promotions
  • $3,705 to the Gothenburg Chamber of Commerce for print advertising and digital promotions
  • $10,295 to the Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation for print advertising, social media marketing, video production and digital promotions
  • $13,145 to the Sandhills Journey Scenic Byway for print advertising, social media marketing and digital promotions
  • $23,260.50 to the Kearney Visitors Bureau for print advertising, social media marketing and digital promotions
  • $16,070 to the Golden Spike Tower in North Platte for print advertising, social media marketing and digital promotions
  • $1,000 to Seward County Visitors Committee for social media marketing
  • $2,000 to Kimball County Visitors Committee for print advertising and digital promotions
  • $6,500 to Gage County Tourism for print advertising, social media marketing and video production
  • $15,695 to Scotts Bluff Area Visitors Bureau for print advertising and digital promotions
  • $13,815 to North Platte/Lincoln County Visitors Bureau for print advertising, ad development, social media marketing and digital promotions
  • $2,000 to Alliance Visitors Bureau for print advertising and digital promotions
  • $2,745 to Kool-Aid Days in Hastings for print advertising and digital promotions
  • $4,800 to the Robert Henri Museum in Cozad for print advertising and digital promotions
  • $11,250 to Columbus/Platte County Visitors Bureau for print advertising and digital promotions
  • $6,275 to the Hastings Museum for print advertising, social media marketing and digital promotions
  • $2,250 to the Ord Area Chamber of Commerce for print advertising
  • $4,387.50 to the Lincoln Children’s Museum for print advertising, social media marketing, video production and digital promotions
  • $9,950 to Wessels Living History Farm in York for print advertising, social media marketing, video production and digital promotions
  • $7,600 to Hooker County Tourism for print advertising, social media marketing and digital promotions
  • $4,850 to Cozad Chamber of Commerce for print advertising and digital promotions
  • $3,000 to the Mullen Commercial Club’s Sandhills Sharptail Shootout event for social media marketing and digital promotions
  • $2,000 to Tall Grass Prairie Tours/Liberty House B&B in Seward for social media marketing
  • $3,375 to The Archway in Kearney for social media marketing, video production and digital promotions
  • $2,500 to Friends of Ash Hollow State Historical Park’s Convergence on Sacred Ground event for social media marketing and digital promotions
  • $5,000 to Central City Area Chamber of Commerce for print advertising
  • $9,000 to Norfolk Area Visitors Bureau for print advertising
  • $4,000 to the Arrow Hotel in Broken Bow for digital promotions
  • $3,000 to Custer County Economic Development Corporation for social media marketing and video production
