FALLing for Nebraska
Five fun fall activity ideas

LINCOLN, Neb. (October 6, 2016)—The temperature is starting to drop and many are looking for fun fall activities. So grab your scarf and get to planning, because there’s plenty to do in Nebraska! Keep yourself entertained this season with these options and more:

U-Pick Farms
One of the staples of fall in Nebraska is celebrating the different harvests going on around the state. Check out Union Orchard to get your favorite red delicious or Nielsen Kids U Pick for some pumpkins and sweet corn. Many of these places, like Vala’s and Roca Berry Farm, are destinations you can spend the whole day at with your loved ones.

State Parks
Spend some time camping, hiking and watching the wildlife at one of Nebraska’s great parks. Rent a cabin at Ponca or Mahoney or crunch the leaves as you walk the trails at Indian Cave on a brisk afternoon. All are great places to see critters preparing for the cold winter months, so bring your binoculars.
Golf Courses
Take a swing at some of the award-winning golf courses that cover the state of Nebraska, courses like The Prairie Club in Valentine, Awarii Dunes Golf Club near Kearney and Sand Hills Golf Club in Mullen. These sites are even more beautiful during the fall season when abundant colors of red, orange and amber come out to play.
Places like the Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer in Grand Island, Legacy of the Plains in Gering or the Children’s Museums across the state, all offer a fun and educational experience. Plus, many have fall events planned that are sure to excite the little ones!

Everyone can feel the Husker pride on game day. Whether it’s tailgating in the Haymarket or watching the game from Memorial Stadium. If you’re a die-hard sports fan, a trip to see the Huskers on their home turf is likely on your bucket list. Come be a part of the NCAA-record streak of consecutive sellouts that dates back to 1962 and be greeted by 85,000+ roaring fans.
