PUBLIC TOURS 2nd Saturday of the month - April thru October
2018 Dates 4/14 5/12 6/9 7/14 8/11 9/8 10/13
Starts at Dreamland Plaza at 24th and Lizzie Robinson Drive
Jewish settlers began to populate the area in the 1890s, calling the stretch between Cuming and Lake the “Miracle Mile.” For African Americans who called North Omaha home in the early 20th century, it was known as the “Street of Dreams.” 24th and Lake emerged as a bustling district of theatres, restaurants, retail shops and music clubs like the Dreamland Ballroom. Tour goers can explore the rich history of this street and experience the revitalization happening today.
The cost is $10 per person or $15 per couple. Groups that would like to schedule a private tour should contact Vince Furlong, REO’s walking tour coordinator, at 402.709.2586 to arrange a date, time and cost
