About This Trip

I visited our National forest at Halsey, Nebraska and had a great conversation with the Park Ranger working in the station. He was extremely knowledgeable about the forest and its planting and re-planting due to fires. The forest is a treasure and offers hiking, camping and water play.
I headed east to Broken Bow and decided to stop in at Dunning, Nebraska. Many of us know Dunning for the Sinclair gas station along Nebraska Highway 2 and the Sandhills Pottery sold there. However, there is now the Sandhills Heritage Museum which recently opened. It houses interesting articles from the past and depicts life in the Sandhills in the earlier days. There is also interesting architecture to see in Dunning, Nebraska.
