About This Destination

Connecting Agriculture, History and Art: Founded in 1846 as the Mormon Winter Quarters gristmill, it is now home of the Winter Quarters Mill Museum, Art-Loft Gallery and a summer Farmers Market. Pioneers' Hand-hewn and pegged beams are part of its sturdy construction.
The mill and 1915 grain elevator served farmers during Nebraska's Territorial days from the Civil War to the Cold War. Open May-Oct, Wed-Sun, 1-5pm; Sunday Farmers Market June to Oct. 10am-3pm. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A historic-preservation project since 1998, Donations are appreciated.
