About This Destination

The Fontenelle Forest Nature Center, one of Nebraska's five National Natural Landmarks, features 1,400 acres of lush forest and 19 miles of trails, including two wheelchair accessible boardwalks.

You will find premier birding sites, rare wildflowers and unlimited opportunities for outdoor adventure. The area holds remnants of ancient Native American tribes, the Mormon Trail and Lewis and Clark's journey. Below towering oak trees lies Acorn Acres, an outdoor playscape for children.

The Katherine and Fred Buffett Forest Learning Center features two exploration galleries, a gift shop and programs for all ages.

The Raptor Recovery Center is focused on conservation efforts for birds of prey and gives visitors the chance to see raptors up close!

Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year's Day.

Admission: $11 adults, $10 seniors, $8 children (ages 2-17), free for members.
