St James Marketplace was formed in 2001 to try to save our small community after the closing of our rural church. The Marketplace is housed in the former Sts. Philip and James Parochial School, which is on the National Registry of Historic Places. The Marketplace has won many prestigious awards. The Nebraska Preservation award, Outstanding tourism Attraction, Pioneer Award and Hidden Treasure award. The Marketplace is open 10-5 every Saturday and Sunday from the first weekend in May thru the first weekend of Dec. and has 60 plus artisans specializing in creative art, handmade crafts and fresh baked goods. Our annual celebration of Heritage Fest is held the last Sunday of September. There are many hands on activities as well as quilt, tractor, and antique displays. There will be activities and fun for all! Lunch will also be served the day of Heritage Fest.
