Arapahoe is hosting their annual Merry and Bright celebration on Small business Saturday, November 29th. There will be a matinee, slay rides, vendors inside the community building, and Local Roots Floral and gifts will be offering ornament painting.
Wool & Whimsy, Crete
Wool and Whimsy will have discounts on select items on small business Saturday. They will also host Sit n' Stitch every Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.; anyone is welcome to bring a project (any craft) and come into the shop for some social time.
Louis E. May Museum, Fremont
The Louis E. May Museum will be hosting a Christmas open house from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on December 9, 2025. Guests are welcome to come enjoy refreshments and holiday lights.
Wildcat Hills Nature Center, Gering
Wildcat Hills is doing a Holiday Hike on December 13th at 1 p.m. MST to enjoy the chilled weather and appreciate Nebraska in the winter. There will be another hike for the first day of the new year on January 1st at 1pm MST.

Niobrara State Park, Niobrara
From November through early January, the night skies above Niobrara State Park come alive with some of the season’s brightest constellations. The famous Winter Hexagon creates a dazzling frame in the crisp winter sky. Holiday stargazing is even more special with the Geminid meteor shower in mid-December and the Quadrantids in early January lighting up the night.
