The Byway of Art Tour showcases the public art projects of three communities in northeast Nebraska: Oakland, Decatur, and Lyons, Nebraska. All towns participated in the development of public art development that spoke to the heart of their community.
Oakland designed and manufactured the "Lycka Til" a mobile stage to represent their Swedish heritage. They will be showing a play/musical from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday Sept 30, 2017. From there, move on down the road a few miles to Decatur, Nebraska, from 5-7. The folks of Decatur settled on a storytelling space - an old trolley car that has a wonderful history behind it. The tour wraps up in Lyons from 7-9 with their outdoor theater where a building facade folds out into seating to watch a movie on main street on a portable screen. There will be food available and other art work to look at and purchase. Should be lots of FUN!
