A life-size statue of Buffalo Bill Cody stands guard at the entrance to North Platte's Cody Park, the site of the original 1882 Old Glory Blowout, the precursor to his famed Wild West Show. The statue was donated to the city of North Platte by the citizens of Great Britain, who revere Buffalo Bill. Also included in the memorial are tributes to various entertainers who made the show successful and an avenue of flags of every U.S. state and foreign nation in which the Wild West Show performed.
The Memorial is open daily sunrise to sunset. Admission is free.
