In 2014, Omaha Parks partnered with Quality Living, Inc. and unveiled a marvelous addition to the park system: a new, universally-accessible, 36,000-square foot facility at Cunningham Lake. Those with disabilities can now launch a kayak without assistance, play horseshoes and boccie ball on an accessible surface, and fish off a shaded pier. A new road and parking area was constructed to support the facility as well.
The project was funded with private donations and Park Bonds. It was the first of other exciting renovations planned to meet and exceed the needs of all Glenn Cunningham Lake park goers.
