Contra Dance Omaha

A contra dance event is a social dance that one can attend without a partner. Throughout the course of a dance, couples progress toward and away from the band. By the end of the dance the couples will have danced with everyone in the line. The dance is led by a caller who teaches the sequence of figures in the dance before the music starts. Many people find contra dance easier to learn than other forms of social dancing because a caller tells you what to do and there is no specific footwork. Come prepared to have a lot of fun! Children are welcome. Adults $6.00, Students $3.00, Families $15.00 maximum.
