LINCOLN, Neb. (September 10, 2025) – The Nebraska Tourism Commission dba Visit Nebraska, led by Chairperson Robert Sabin, has announced plans to launch a search for its next executive director.
To ensure continuity during the transition, the commission has appointed Heather Hogue, Deputy Director and Grant Administrator, to serve as Interim Executive Director.
Sabin will oversee the process by organizing a selection team, which will engage in a nationwide search.
“We intend to work closely with business and government leaders across Nebraska, as well as our fellow commissioners, to make this important appointment,” Sabin said. “Our goal is to strengthen our messaging and continue drawing visitors to this incredible state.”
Sabin added that he is confident the Visit Nebraska staff will continue delivering on the commission’s mission throughout the transition.
“I see firsthand the team’s commitment to inspiring travel to our state,” he said. “Together, we will continue to welcome visitors to experience the beauty and hospitality of Nebraska.”
The executive search is expected to be completed by the beginning of the new year.
