Meditation in Motion
We know from experience that our body, mind, and spirit are intimately and intricately connected. In this presentation you will learn an introductory series of meditative movements that will calm your mind, energize your body, and open your spirit to God’s love. Based on the ancient wisdom of Tai Chi, these movements have been shown to increase strength, and improve flexibility and balance, especially in older adults. All of the movements will be done sitting or standing.
Margaret Hoarty, RN, MSN, is a volunteer Faith Community Nurse who facilitates the Health Ministry program at her home parish of St. Pius X in Omaha. She taught Tai Chi classes for older adults at St. Pius X for 15 years.
Beth Staenberg, OT, is a retired occupational therapist, with a master’s degree in psychology. She has extensive training in yoga, Tai Chi, and Qigong and teaches these disciplines several times a week. $45
