LINCOLN, Neb. (June 28, 2017)—The busiest travel weekend of the summer is here. Independence Day typically attracts 12-13 percent more travelers than Memorial Day or Labor Day and this year, travelers are in luck. According to AAA, gas prices could hit 13-year lows. If you plan on taking advantage of a four day weekend, Nebraska offers some exciting activities to help you enjoy the holiday.

"This summer has been incredibly busy for tourism in Nebraska. Travelers are enjoying their time at Passport stops and at events like the College World Series, Great American Comedy Festival and many more," said John Ricks, Executive Director at the Nebraska Tourism Commission. "Nebraskans across the state are celebrating Independence Day weekend with epic activities you have to experience for yourself."
