LINCOLN, NE (January 11, 2017)— The Official 2017 Spring/Summer Nebraska Travel Guide is now available to those looking to explore the state. This year the publication includes a 12-page insert dedicated to Nebraska’s 150th Birthday celebration, which will take place all year.
“This is a big year for Nebraska! Visitors can find any number of ways to enjoy the birthday celebration, including the total solar eclipse that will pass over a large part of our state this August,” said Nebraska Tourism Commission executive director, John Ricks. “The guide will inspire people to start planning their travels to all of Nebraska’s great destinations.”
The Spring/Summer guide is filled with beautiful photography of the state and great information. Nebraska’s Governor, Pete Ricketts said, “Whatever your interests, the Nebraska Travel Guide is your resource to make your vacation a memorable experience.”
The guide is a helpful tool for travel planning and also provides exposure to Nebraska’s great destinations. Inside travelers will find features on the states nationally acclaimed golf courses, western heritage, historical sites, music and sports venues, outdoor adventures and art museums/galleries. It is also filled with a variety of listings for things to see and do, restaurants and places to stay. The calendar section of the travel guide also gives a thorough list of events going on across the state.
Tourism is the state’s third largest industry, generating nearly $5 billion in visitor expenditures, $600 million in state taxes and employs more than 46,000 people statewide.
