LINCOLN, Neb. (July 1, 2016) With the fourth falling on a Monday this year, it’s another three-day weekend for many. According to AAA, nearly 43 million Americans will travel this Independence Day weekend, the highest fourth of July travel volume on record and five million more travelers compared to Memorial Day weekend.
“Travel season is in the full-force here in Nebraska. Between the College World Series, the Olympic Swim Trials and more, there have been thousands of new visitors to our state over the last month,” said Jenn Gjerde, Public Information Officer for the Nebraska Tourism Commission. “We see this weekend, with tons of great events going on, as another prime opportunity for people to experience Nebraska.”
